Battery question
Hi all.. Happy New Year!!
Not used my D3 for a few days. Started her up yesterday and she was a little reluctant but started on the second attempt. Did a short run then left overnight.
This morning the battery is showing as 11.4 (using one of those voltage checkers plugged into socket) before I attempt to start.
Should I be considering a new battery?
I dont know the history of the existing battery as I have only had the car 6mobths.

You should give the battery a top charge overnight, if the car is used randomly and never get the change to top the battery then it might need aditonal charge.
A decent car electric workshop can also take a quick test on it.

Thanks for the responses so far..
If I need a new battery, whats the latest recommendation for a good quality battery.
The car is not used daily.
with a Halfords Trade card (or a mate with one even) there's not many cheaper places and if you have issues, it's usually a no questions asked swap if you can produce the receipt.
Tayna get a lot of good reviews on here..

Tayna, next day delivery, good prices.
My preference is Bosch or Varta (actually the same thing, different stickers)
Many on here use the Exide.Richard

I believe Halfords "own brand" are Yuasa. Certainly the 5 year guarantee is a Halfords thing. And I believe they are in the process of having them all labelled as Halfords.
and my battery has been showing ~11.6v for most of the 4 years I've had the car.
I'm contemplating not getting a battery and spending money on a CTEK charger. I think it will get another year out of this battery AND help with the lad's Punto and SWMBO's VX Antara.
Plus it's easier to justify getting a new battery later if the CTEK can't keep me going

the 11.4v showing is that with the key on if so that normal as glow plugs are on to check properly open the bonnet push the drivers side bonnet catch to lock it then lock the car wait till its asleep then check on the batt for voltage or check via the tow socket if you have one, your batts prob ok just needs a charge upplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou
