Urgent problem: D4, 2016 model gearbox locked
Hello or should it be mayday!
My rotary gearbox knob selector is stuck up and will not rotary so cannot select park.
Has anyone any ideas on to resolve this?
Many thanks in advance for any assistance!

Switch the car off and let it go to sleep. Restart.. this worked for mine when this happened.. although for others they needed the car recovered.
It is a known issue and will probably need the gear selector replaced.I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

If, if...you need a new selector (and I hope not) you may find new ones hard to get as they seem to be in short supply. Others on here can recommend reconditioned I believe but the gear selector for the 2014 D4 XXV which differs only in having a silver piece on it somewhere is a different part number to the usual D4 selector. It is also, somehow, much cheaper and in stock in the main. So you have that up your sleeve.
Good luck and fingers crossed...Jim

Thank you, saw this last night.
Have also downloaded the instructions from the oz site.
Will find out later if it has decided to reset itself after a sleep

Well after leaving it overnight, it worked, well till I got home!
Undertook the work around suggested on the oz forum and then happened across two companies who could recondition the unit.
Made contact with Essex Recons on Monday, sent it to them in the afternoon and they returned it today by lunchtime. Fitted this afternoon and glad to report it works just as it should.
