Automatic pairing with Bluetooth

Took delivery this week of my MY05 HSE and whilst I can manually pair a phone via Bluetooth I can't seem to get the phone to automatically pair. Tried various phones which are shown as compatible on the Landrover website and no joy. Don't think it's a problem with the phones as they automatically pair with my Jaguar. This makes me wonder if it's the Discovery Bluetooth. Anyone had this problem ?

Just double check you have 'allowed' the phone to be automatically connected to by the device 'LAND ROVER'

Will be in the phones BT menu somewhere.

Auto connects to my Nokia fine and also in the past with loan D3's to my SE K800, K810, K850.

Thanks - I had made sure that 'allowed' was selected on both phones as that's what I had to do with my other car. Even after selecting 'allowed' I can't get a phone to pair automatically.

Could be a D3 problem.

Can you try someone else's phone to double check ?

Tried the wife's phone too - still auto pairing is not working. I have a PTI cradle which needs a software upgrade to make it work with a Nokia 6230i so hopefully that will iron out any Disco BT issues.

Does sound like a SW or hardware problem with the BT kit.

As its an 05 D3 it may just need a software update.

Thanks Ronp - the dealer says it's Rimini Red but due to it's age I think it's Alveston Red - hence the confusion. Whatever it is I like it, especially with the Alpaca interior and the Burr Walnut fascia. Be nicer when it recognises my phone Sad

obscidian,

after you have had the infotainment u/g you may still need to have the 6320i fw upgraded to ensure reliable functionality:

from: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=56368#56368

"I have software version 03.50 on mine, works very well in and out of the cradle
only getting a bit confused if you unlock the car from too far away ie out of BT range. A local Nokia service centre should upgrade yours if needs be, normally for free.
*#0000# key sequence will show what's on yours currently. "

not sure about quoting myself in the past tense though, is it a sign of madness? Shocked
 and theeeeennn......???
