D4 2015 DSC and now car dead

Missus was driving car (2015 D4) DSC warning light came on, system advised dropping suspension?  She got home no problem and locked and up came to tell me, car unlocks and ignition is dead (no illumination at all on dashboard) interior lights come on and radio can be switched on but no ignition when pressing start/stop (with brake pressed) checked battery and plenty of juice?  Appreciate any pointers before contacting garage.

Thanks for the reply, a hard reset, not for the faint hearted, little wary as this can sometimes cause even more problems? May have to get hold of local indy on Monday.

do hard reset only make sure to keep terminals connected for like min 10-15 secs

one tons of times nothg scary just have to reset clocks and Censored later

if helps easy win if not get car scanned

one more thing does ignition button lights up? if not might be as simple as start button cables behind it loose or button fooked? easy to pull it out and check

Could it be a faulty earth lead? These are a common failure point. Try putting a jump lead from the -ve terminal to the engine. I think there are plenty of other posts on here that should provide better information than I have.

Regards,
Steve

Have you checked the brake light switch? It needs that for DSC as well as to allow the engine to start. It is probably something that simple.

I've had that go on a VW Caravelle but it still allowed all the lights and ignition to light up. Does a faulty brake switch light on a D4 kill all the electrics? I might have a go at that tomorrow, any easy ways to test other than getting a replacement?

Problem Update

Update, had a mobile mechanic come around and plug in a diagnostic unit, strangely nothing came up, swapped out the unit for a complete second unit and again no errors but recognised the car?? After routing around the obvious suspects the conclusion is that it could be the smart key transmitter that is part of the ignition system is U/S and its not picking up the smart key to activate the start/stop ignition button.

I will contact the indy Landrover garage I use and hopefully it will be a straight forward fix, what are the chances!!

What diagnostic tool did they use? Which unit was swapped out?

Sorry no idea, the first one was a unit that plugged directly into the diagnostic port, the second unit was a Bluetooth type unit. Guy was ex BMW mechanic, seemed to know his stuff.

The sensor/module for the remote locking is separate from the sensor/module for the keyless ignition. The sensor for the keyless ignition, once the keyfob is inside the car is on the steering column.

Update

Mobile mechanic eventually got the car fired up and managed to run a diagnostic, the only fault that wouldn't clear is on the suspension control module, possibly a starting place? Unfortunately this was short lived and car now dead again, arranged for uplift to local Indy. On that subject I will have to manually over-ride the auto gearbox "Park" position and also disengage the electronic handbrake, this seems simple enough and is done by accessing the over rides accessible once cup holder removed, are these simply re-instated?
I have managed to park the car with wheels straight for going on a recovery truck but is there any way to over-ride the steering lock?

Any comments / advise would be appreciated.
