listening to radio

Have a TDV6 MY 2011.
In the owners manual it says that when shutting off engine an being offline the radio can be on for an hour or more.
My car closes down after maybe 15 minutes. Very annoying.

How can I listen to radio for a longer time when engine is off?

TBH I don't recall any D3\4 systems running more than 30 minutes with the engine off

From the owners manual:

RADIO OPERATION
Press the On/Off control on the audio unit. This will also operate the unit for up to one hour with the ignition switched off.
Note: The radio will switch off automatically after 1 hour.

The battery was new 2017.
Is it too old?

ISTR the length of time the radio plays with engine off on a D3 can be adjusted with the “secret” menu in the SN screen, do search on how to access the menu Thumbs Up .
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Just press the radio button again?

No idea how long mine works for but it stops when the "battery low - start engine" warning comes on.

Yes hardware, that is what i am doing,
But I always miss something when it is dead.
On my D3 this never happens.
Earlier had the low battery warning, but now it is gone.

I don’t know, easiest way to find out is to find the hidden menu and have a look Thumbs Up

Have now looked at the hidden menu.
No help there.
Have also measured the time before shutting down. It is 10 minutes.

Is there really nothing to be done to lengthen the time for listening??

Change your interior lighting bulbs for LEDs from someone like PowerFul UK. I did and the radio life when ignition off doubled. You'll be surprised how hot the OEM bulbs are when you remove them. They aren't just lights, they're heaters...

That will give your battery more radio juice..

Thumbs Up
