Vanity mirror lights
Hi I’ve just changed all my interior lights for led in my discovery 4 and they look great the ones I forgot about are the vanity mirror lights does anyone know what type of lamp they are and how they come out as they look very delicate

I never found led versions but SWMBO said she likes the softer light of current bulbs, so not pursuing it at the mo..

My fitting is different as the lamp is only held in at one end unlike the picture where it’s more like a fuse style held both ends

You can get them but because they are so small, they have no protecting circuits or chips built in and can blow your fuse if inserted the wrong way. There’s a chap on this forum or the RRS who blew his CJB costing a lot of money to replace.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

I think the bulbs are T5 286
And yes, get a shed load of fuses (and patience)

I can confirm that attempting to upgrade the vanity mirror lights with the small LED ones available is a complete and utter PITA.
I have tried various LED bulbs from several sources and blown fuse 57 on more occasions than I care to mention. Not once has any of the LEDs even glimmered.
I'd leave well alone and be content with the OEM honeycomb ones, they only come on if the vanity mirror flap is lifted so they aren't a power drain.
Plus side, I am now aware of the passenger footwell fuses location, how to drop the lower glove box and change the fuses.....Jim

No, these are the ones you need for the later D4s... neither worked for me and fuse 57 blew an awful lot trying to work out polarity/fit them. In the end I gave up....

Changed mine the other week and only managed to blow a 5 amp fuse once due to touching the metal with the long nose pliers I was using. Hardest part was replacing the damn fuse
