Electrical problem

Hi all

I have a problem where my battery drains over time which I can deal with but I let it drain completely by mistake and now i have an issue.

It currently has 8v as its charging but when I turn the key to position 2 it goes through its check says I have an issue and can’t use the special features and then after about a min it switches off and almost reboots to go through the sequence again.

When I try and start it there is nothing it won’t even try (could be because the battery is so low)

Do I need to do anything or should it be ok when fully charged?

If you have left the battery to completely drain (and I mean to nothing), then the battery is goosed. It will not recover.

It will look to all intents and purposes to have accepted a charge but you have permanently changed (depleted) the chemical make-up of it.

Start with a new battery I'm afraid Big Cry

Is there a way of checking before I replace it?

Yes, take it to Halfords and let them place a discharge tester on it (unless you have a mate that has got one).

It will show its true storage and Cold Current Amperage (CCA).

That would be the final say Thumbs Up
