Rear Camera
Hi Guys,
New D3 HSE owner here.
Read these posts for hours and probably more confused.
Does anyone have a link to a step by step guide to fitting a reverse camera?
Thanks in advance

Or fit a D4 screen, simple universal rearview camera is more or less plug and play then.. find a IID
And enable the camera in the CCF file and ready..
Search for D4 screen Best regards

Can I just ask,
What is the difference between RR mode and normal on the display. Many people saying the put a switch in the use both. Is it needed?
Thanks

no 4x4 screen and a wrong logo
have read to the D4 screen option... they are reasonably cheap to get (less than 100 gbp)
you need a 2009-2011 screen and you keep 4x4 screen and correct logo and newer maps and more modern look and........... rearview camera is very very easy as every cheap camera will fit without further units needed
still needs a CCF edit though because of the rearview camera connection to the gearbox for rearview switchingBest regards

Is it possible to fit a forward facing camera to a D4?-I fitted one on my D3 and found it invaluable. I have asked this question before but never got any response It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

So you can connect it to the venture camera input.
Edit the ccf
It can then be displayed on half the 4x4 screen but I don’t know how well that works in practice.

Thanks for this. Have purchased a D4 screen now so just waiting on delivery. Does anyone have recommendations on rear camera to install?
Planning on doing the install then sorting the IID tool after.
Cheers.

You are welcome..
I have this one installed.. i like the High quality view. Screen can handle it
And easy placement at/on the licence plate lights
Note: this a D4 screen, but i left the buttons from the D3 in place, because it fits better with that surround imho.Best regards

Does this not make your number plate look half lit? Read so many that say it does.
Any advise on wiring? Hoping to order everything this weekend to tackle in the week and don't want to miss anything.
Grateful of the help

No... just put a 1w LED bulp in the other...5w5
Then they are both the same color
Looks “factory” then...
Wiring... through the rear door, through the rubber grommet (i did that with a tie-rip, thats stiff enough to put through the grommet) then down at the D-pillar... under the carpet at the side.. under the plastic trim along both doors..... and then under the seat, to the tunnel... to the screen.....
The standard cable is too short... you need quite a few meters...
Oh! Forget... you need 12v.. not sure i have it permanently wired or switched with the rear light units... but 12v can be found at he rear lights or towbar electric fuses left at the D-pillarBest regards

Be creative here...
Since you only need + and -
Any 2 pin wil do, if shaved to the right small size zo it wil fit in between the other pins...
“Old fashioned” internal Computer wire, cut to size, or another car plug (tyco) and cut to size with a dremel or like wise...Best regards

you need a 2009-2011 screen
@Motolab Have you got a part number for this model of screen by any chance?
Edit I answered my own question in a post not far below....
For everyone else looking I assume the part number is AH22-10E887-BE

When sourcing the screen from a 2010 RangeRover Sport (same parts #), would this work in a 2008 Discovery with the Highline Herman Kardon system?D5 HSE TDV6 (gone but not forgotten)
D3 HSE 60 Years Edition
D2 TD5 Highlander (gone but not forgotten)
