no front or rear parking sensors

For as long as I have had my LR3 (maybe 5 years) the parking sensors have never worked.
The light constantly flashes on the dash

using GAP I get the following:

B1B57-11 - Front sensors power circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground (2B)

B1B58-11 - Rear sensors power circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground (2B)

I suppose each of these is going to require bumpers off, but other than poking at wiring is there a specific area of interest to go for?

First think I would do is remove the right side headlight.
Disconnect the parking sensor loom. Red yellow blue green brown black wired connector

Clear codes.
Put the car in reverse, release park brake. and back to park.

Read codes.
If you still get the power circuit fault code. Then there is a fault at the rear.
Either failed sensor (difficult to tell which) or loom short.

Thanks, I tried what you suggested

Even before putting it in reverse the code came back, as after clearing the IID rescans for faults and it crops up immediately

Well you could buy a couple of sensors and swap new ones in till it works.

Or measure the resistance of the sensors to see if one is much lower. (Between the pins that connect to the brown and black wires)

looking at this again today

Measuring the resistance, I was getting a reading of 10 on my DMM when set at 200k on my brown wire at the front. It initially dropped close to 0.2 but then rises up to about 10. So that doesnt seem right

I tried to look at the live values with the IID Tool and everything I selected had a status of: N/A, Inactive or 'Never Detected'

In the CCF I get the following selectable state options, which concerns me a little:
Undefined
Reverse parking aid
Both
Not fitted
Error

It maybe capacitance that is making the reading move. It's the bumper/sensor cable end you need to check. Between black and brown. I haven't done it myself. Worth ago though.

Those ccf options look ok. If I had thought the fault was at the front I would have said change it from both to rear and get the rears working.
However, with the front unplugged you were still getting the fault code, so problem at rear
