Disco 4 SDV6 Main battery replacement.....Reset required??? |
|
Hi everyone...
The 'low battery, start your engine' and the infamous 2 bleeps have cursed the Disco this morning...
I had a couple of pre cursers over the Christmas period when it was really cold, so I think its getting to the end of its life.
The auxiliary battery was replaced under warranty a couple of years ago.
I've checked the voltage, main is at 12.27 volts and aux is at 13.15volts static. The main battery is AGM. I'm assuming with these voltages that the main battery is Furbarred.
I'm going to purchase a new battery over the weekend but I'm not sure whether the vehicle needs a reset. There are references to BMS reset, is this necessary? Does it self learn? Can the battery be left off for a period of time and then reconnected so it resets?
As always, your wealth of knowledge is greatly appreciated...
TIA
Paul

if yhe battery is the same it should be accepted no issues by BCM but if any different one can introduce new battery via IIDtool after swap
works the charm at least did for me
Good luck

I did this the other day. Nice new Ek950 Exide AGM.
I did the reset as I had no start/stop..... the reset bought this back.... I think having a tired battery also makes other systems non functioning... one being the FBH? So who knows what else isn't functioning as it should when the BMS starts limiting things due to weak power. A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.
