'My' ex D4 is on the forecourt of Land Rover Scorrier/Truro for around £6,000 more than what they paid me. No surprise there of course - but they have got the mileage wrong .... about 1000 miles or so more than it has done.
And they have removed the 'rusting away' steps - despite all my efforts spraying underneath with WD40 over the last almost 6 years....
Now I'm getting 'excited' about my next Discovery 'adventure/trauma' with the DS P300e R Dynamic HSE... hope the build quality has improved ..... but I'm not holding my breath.. 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

I periodically check out of curiosity and my D4 has slowly but surely increased in price by about £4k over the last year. I think the demand is very strong for these, but the low mileage certainly helps.
Just pulled a new quote. Added another thousand miles on the odometer. Price is now up again to £33k.
Demand seems increasing on these! 2016 D4 HSE Lux

Well WBAC offered £10.8k for my PHEV. I ended up selling it to a car buyer company who buys for the trade for £13.5k

so much disparity between part ex prices. Like the 'best you will get CAP price' of £7200 off LR to the £9500 i actually got (an possibly sold myself a little short on that, dealer sold it for £12500), and the £6000 difference between part ex and retail for Dennysons D4 above.
We are totally in the hands of the money grabbing dealers (both main and indy) as Joe public generally has no access to the magical price guides used by the trade.
Ultimately though i guess if the money you get still allows you to carry out your next purchase or whatever , then it is what it is. Just a shame we as a customer have to battle and search far and wide for an honest deal. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

I think people buy in price brackets, 5/10/15k, then once you hit 15+ they want warranty/dealer comeback, and of course finance.
So the PHEV for 14k is out of reach for the 10k crowd, yet to cheap for the 15k lot as people are always going to try and stretch their budget.

WBAC offered me £28k for my 2016 Graphite with 17k miles. I'm not in the market to sell, but was bored during a meeting one day a couple of weeks back.....

@Dannyson when you say DS you mean Discovery Sport?
Don't do it!
I did it when I traded in my D3 - instant regret - 6 months later I traded it back for an older D4 and lost a small fortune in the process.
D4 is a proper 4 x 4.
DS is a plastic car not worthy of sharing the same name.

I have a friend who traded his D4 for a DS - & was most disappointed. He recently traded it for a new Defender, 110 again loosing a heap of money, but at least he's pleased with the Defender.

Comparing a D3/D4 with Discovery Sport is like chalk and cheese though. Its 30-40k car with materials to match that price bracket compared to a 45-60k car with better materials, and of course the obvious air/coil suspension.
Yes its a major step down in many areas but the DS was really a replacement for the Freelander 2 (even if JLR wont admit that) so maybe a comparison between the FL2 and the DS would be more accurate.
The DS will still probably lose out to the FL2 in some areas though 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Just had a text from WBAC to offer me £32,110 for my 66 plate D4, up from £31,000 two weeks ago, 38000 miles. Pretty much what we paid 18 months ago from LR.

Hi,
it all seems a bit odd
speaking to a Mercedes dealer yesterday they are also short on stock, having about 60 cars in when their normal level is more like 100 cars, yet you can still buy a new, in stock car with nearly £5k off
