Watch out, all. My 81 yo mother-in-law who hasn't driven any distance throughout lockdown has - against our advice - embarked on a journey from West Wales to Sussex this morning. Despite a bit of a rant from SWMBO, she is adamant that she is "not going more than 50 mph" on the M4, A34 or M27...
Dangerous as IMHO. She risks become a hood-ornament on the front of a lorry with an infuriated driver. IIRC the minimum speed is about 33 mph, so still legal.

My FiL used to be seen driving round here with a veritable convoy behind him ... @15mph max.
However ... 2 cataract ops and a new(er) car later he's been seen doing 30mph.
Whenever I've had the "joy" of driving him about in one of his cars it's really great to be told every minute or so "don't ride the clutch, you'll ruin the car" (NEVER rode the f???ing clutch, just always set off smoothly and not F1 style).
with the new car, he still starts it with foot to the floor, revs it again for good measure, then crunches the gears as he sets off ... many times with SWMBO shouting "LIGHTS DAD!!" into the dark after him.

Both of these examples provide ample justification for removing driving licenses from certain elder members of society...
On the flip side, my wife's cousin's father who is over 90 years old regularly whizzes around the top side of the M60 in his red Toyota Yaris safely and at appropriate speeds, so its not universal...Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Allowing an hour for breaks, that's 40 mph average.

My 75 year old mother seems to permanently bump against 9-12 points. She has two speeds: Light speed and stop. I also think she's on personal terms with most French motorway cops bearing in mind the number of fines she's had!
Fair play she's an amazing driver and an AMG Merc deserves to be driven, but god help us if she lost her licence . She'd be intolerable! D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)
