How to take OFF protruding DRL on D3 - help please

Driving up our lane this afternoon and was too tired to mind the bloody neighbours’ scaffolding... have cracked one of the daytime running lights that - anyway - protrudes too much for my liking other than being completely useless (nb. scaffolding is fine).
It’s quite clear the whole thing can be bolted off but what of the electric connection?
I have looked far and wide and just cannot find anything that relates to these lights.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They don’t look factory fitted, most likely added by a pervious owner? You’ll have to trace the wiring from the back and find where they’ve tee’d them in.

Is the item below circled part of the drl? As it doesn’t look part of any D3 bumper I recognise. If so there may be a screw under as well.

Was there a warning sign in front of the scaffolding?-=if not whoever put it the should be held responsible and foot the inconvenience and cost of the repair. Any object put across a right of way that causes an accident even a hose pipe or electric power extension leaves the person who put it there responsible should there be an accident, NWNF cowboys would love it. Thumbs Up

Thanks so much everyone! Soooo:

Yes it was definitely fitted by previous owner - and judging by all the receipts, he did most of it himself.
These came from Adamesh.co.uk

The circled bit is indeed part of the lights kit. Got cracked earlier and it is held by grommet plastic fill plugs left right and centre at the bottom. That one’s now loose.

I am indeed tempted to mention something to the property developer neighbour as that scaffolding is a menace that we’ve had to put up with for over 9 months now when it was only due to be there 6 weeks... we’re in the centre of town and it’s such a tight squeeze getting in as it is with the tank (full of 3 kids). The foot of the scaffolding is right there in the turn...

If we just take the whole “circled bit” off and just unplug it to start, is it going to mess up the electrics or computer in any way? I read about a tool that is needed when you install the DRL to sync it (?) to the system. Would we need to do something similar but the other way around?

If you just unplug it shouldn’t cause any issue with an aftermarket piece of kit, and even if it does just plug it back in Smile
Most likely if you look round the back of you’ll find a small box of trick (unless it’s built into the light fitting)that turns them off at night and wiring spliced into the back of your lights somewhere.
