Rear tailgate brake light

My rear upper brake light has stopped working, having searched the site and looking on you tube, it shows various ways to remove the bonded lamp, hit with a hammer, grind it off or use a heat gun. I assume that these are still the only sucessful ways to remove it, whilst trying not to damage the paintwork/ car in the process? Any further ideas, experience or thoughts on the best way to remove it?
TIA Thumbs Up

There are a few posts about this on the forum.

Seems like you may need to get a good windscreen fitter to do the job

This one may help:
