Discovery 4 sdv6 MAF sensor fault

2012 Discovery 4 sdv6.
Should both MAF sensors read equal on idle or do they operate at different times, bank 1 has a reading of 0 and bank 2 reads 13 ish, it's not coming up with a fault though only come across this by fixing fingers crossed and clearing the fault I did have of restricted power which came up as Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Position Control Range/Performance.

I had restricted performance recently and it was the front maf and I’m sure the garage was saying the front did upto 3k revs then the second plays at part at the higher revs. Don’t quote me on it, but would make sense of your readings. We also looked at readings and they seems good but changed the sensor on the off chance and it worked immediately.

I'm sure you've got this sorted now - however if you haven't - for info. The TDv6 3.0 engine has a twin turbo system. One is the cruising turbo (right hand side of the engine if your standing in front of the car) which is fed air from the bank closest to the front of the car. At ~2800rpm the secondary turbo (located on the left hand side of the engine) kicks in and pulls air in through the secondary air supply (the second rear maf sensor) the two turbo outlets are then mixed together in an intelligent way before going through the intercooler and into the inlet manifolds.

You cannot really diagnose the issue with just reading the MAF sensors output. As people have suggested look for a garage with a smoke machine - the engines are renowned for having cracked manifolds which will present the fault you describe, or it could be a split hose either way a smoke machine is your friend.
