Discovery 5 - Can you upgrade the exhaust? |
|
I dont know if anyone on here can help but I am thinking of getting one of the new discovery 5's and was wondering what they are like for upgrading?
My main things to work on are
-Johnson 1.5" liftrods,
- lazer lights in the grill
- a different exhaust to change the tone and also remove the cat for for better exhaust flow.
- same 511 wheels and tyre combination as my discovery 3
- potentially a descreet winch mount and winch
Has anyone done this or able to comment on this? - Particularly the exhaust!?
thanks all in advance.

I would recommend having an extended test drive in a D5, and maybe a Defender before deciding which way to go.
I've decided to go for a Defender when the time is ripe.

There is a user on here that has done the lazer lights in the grill and the discrete winch mount so its definitely possible.
But in comparison to other countries like Australia and USA there are very few UK places that sell the stuff 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Interesting gents, thanks. good idea about Aus, i will take a peek at their ones tonight. As to a new defender, i would love a fuly kitted out new 110 but budget doesn't allow for that im afraid!! - they are the best part of £70+k and thats into the SVR or G wagon arena so i think a disco 5 is the best option for a really nice motor which good offroad capabilites too

Yes to Johnson rods. As they’ve been fitted to L405 FFRR’s I can’t see why they’d not be able to be fitted to the D5. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I am considering fitting 275 55 20 AT tyres on my FFRR this winter.I stumbled across this thread for the D5, Johnson Rods and hidden winch on the white D5 (scroll down).

Does one need to fit Johnson rods on the new Disco (or the other new models)? The standard and off road heights are much better than the D3 and D4 anyway, and the system allows you run at an increased ride height at speed anyway, unlike the older versions which dropped to standard height at c.30mph. Or is it a "looks good" thing? Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

LEDs in grill... No problem
LED bar on roof... No problem. I have done it myself and am very happy with it
Discrete winch bar... No problem... There are several possibilities.... Lucky8llc, wildbear (the one I recommend and have used myself), reuleparts etc.
I would also recommend the RUNVA winches... Excellent quality and pulling power.
PM me if you want information about the LED or winch installations.

Also... 511 wheels... Also no a problem. I am using 20" 5011 rims (same as 511 but for D5)
