| Light braking vibration / juddering around 70mph |
|
My disco 4 has started juddering /vibrating when lightly braking
On the motorway From 80-70mph it’s stops as the speed lowers
It doesn’t feel like it’s coming through the steering wheel
But you can feel it in the seat !!
I be recently had the front arms done plus 4 wheel alignment
. Now this morning driving to work , I am sure it was fine
At work I applied the park break and it was bad on the way home
.
I am going to have the rear discs pads replaced at the weekend
Plus park shoes checked , I am hoping this fixes the issue.
It almost feels llike ABS is being applied !
Any suggestions would be appreciated

So it feels like you’re driving in a rocky surface?
Is any of your wheels or calipers warm or hot? Or is there a burning kind of smell? Do take care not to touch directly.
I’ve had this - the first time I had a caliper piston stuck and the second time another stuck caliper piston PLUS parking brake shoes stuck. The wheel was steaming in -25 degrees  
The first time, fix was replacement of caliper which had its seals failed and pistons were rusted. Didn’t bother reconditioning or anything. The second time replaced two calipers, brake shoes and fittings, disks and new pads.

Propshaft?
I have a 2015 car and my centre bearing (rubber piece around the propshaft) went last year at 5 years and 30,000 miles. From other reports it seems quite common. I had the whole rear propshaft replaced. I have no idea if this might cause the symptoms you state, but from reading I believe you would get some shudder trough the car. Gary

I had the car a month a go, its still got some warranty with the dealer.
The propshaft has been done, although to be honest this has only seem to have started since they did the front lower arms, and prop.
I took it to a good independent I know, who check over the new arms and prop and they said it looked all good nothing loose.
Kajtzu, , yes that's probably a good description , like driving over a cobble street.
Driving home last night I probably drove people mad on the motorway as I kept trying the brakes to get a feel of the issue  , but at around 70 I only had to very lightly touch the brake to get the vibration. !
I'll keep you posted if the rear disks or pads change makes any difference. Iill get the guy to check the callipers and shoes too.

Warped discs?
That's exactly how mine was and had new discs put on...problem solved

Hi I hope that's all it is  . I am hedging my bets its the rears as the steering isn't affected. ! feels like its coming from the back.
On another note mine eco start stop doesn't work ether not that I am really bothered
it's hard to tell sometimes.
