2007 D3 - usual list

Good afternoon,

On my 2nd d3 currently - got a number of questions/requests for advice if possible.

I have read through the stickies etc - managed to confuse myself mostly (easily done these days).

1st-oil pump etc. Mine had an engine failure pre-purchase. A lower mileage 'Jaaaag' engine was used. Do these have the same oil pump issues/slow oil light extinguishing concerns - 3 to 4 seconds initially.Goes quieter as lamp goes out.

2nd - usual towbar concern. No keys - I can just about see number so am attempting to order a key to suit. Looks like it's been in there a while so am soaking in regularly in hope/anticipation. I am aware of the recall/rework and the shenanigans some people had from L-R - any advice ref use of or replacement with a fixed version?

Oil lamp 'concern' fixed by replacing the oil filter (as per the many threads!)

If you are unsure change the belts and pump better to be safe Thumbs Up Discovery 3 se gone

It had belts - oil lamp seems to be out after the 'usual' amount of time now - changing filter again (along with oil) seems to have helped as well. I'll keep an eye on it Smile

You need to check if its had the later oil pump fitted as the older type can fail at anytime.

If the last person cut corners when they swapped the engine they may have reused the older type pump off of the jag engine.

With the towbar i would fit a new lock mechanism

for the tow bar the tow sure kit is very good and you wont see you trailer coming along side you as it ploughs in to a wall as a fair few have

Towsuredont seem to sel them anymore. There are otherbolt on kits just as good .
