I have a next base 522gw but can’t get gps to pick up satellites. I assumed it was due to having a heated screen. I tried it in partners Ford that has a heated screen and it works fine. Both positions were the same, just to the side of the rear view mirror.
Is the D4 screen shielding it too much?
Cheers

I've got a Nextbase 312 just left of the mirror, right at the top, and don't have issues. .

i also have one fitted in the same place works fine (in both d3 d4) but i will say that if i turn it on whilst stationary it seems to take an age to find a satellite connection but connects much quicker when moving
try setting the display to always on and go for a quick drive watching the display (safely) think the satellite symbol stops flashing when connected (or other way round) please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

Have been trying various things and found when I use the cigarette lighter lead it’s picks up gps pretty much straight away. When using the hard wired kit the gps doesn’t work. Did have it connected to the fridge fuse and also tried it on the lighter fuse. Assumed the hard wire kit was faulty in some way so got another one and it’s the same.
Can’t see why it only works on the plug in lead.
Also the cars sat nav gps doesn’t work either.

i connected to the wiper fuse on mine and if you look at the h/wire kit it has a tiny led that gives the charge status so you know if its working ok also is it a genuine nextbase kit or a chinese copy kit (look the same big price difference)
my thoughts would be your connecting to the wrong fuse if it works ok via cig lighter and the car satnav gps will be coincidence and not connected to the dashcam as the d/cam is independent to the satnav please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

Hi
I have tried it in fuse for (1) heated steering wheel (2) cubby cooler and lastly cigarette lighter. it is a genuine kit and also the other kit I tried was sent from nextbase.
I’m now having thoughts that it could be my tracker that is blocking signal. Is this possible?
When I get home later I’ll disconnect the tracker to see if it makes any difference

was your tracker fitted/working when you connected the dashcam to the cig lighter ?
only takes a moment to try the wiper fuse as when i fitted mine it was the only one that worked right when i was looking for power supply, most appeared to work ok but had problems like shutting down when starting the engine/staying on if you shut engine down but stayed in the car/turning car on but not starting engine,a lot of systems seemed to have delays built in to them thus making the dashcam not work correctly also had loads of problems relating to the sd cards being used again buy quality genuine ones please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

The sat nav in the car worked when I got the car but it was sometime after that it stopped working with a red line through the gps word. I may have fitted the tracker by then. It’s only a couple of weeks ago I hard wired the dash cam in. And it’s only this morning that I thought about the tracker causing the problem as dashcam and sat nav both gps not working.
Could be barking up the wrong tree but does seem a coincidence.

is it possible you've disconnected the car's GPS receiver when fitting the tracker ?

Check that it’s seated in the mount properly. I had a 522GW installed in my MX5 and the magnetic mount was so strong that removing the camera must’ve slightly damaged the connectors such that it powered on but didn’t start the GPS. If it transferred it to the Vitara, everything worked fine.
In the end I fitted another magnetic mount and it’s been fine ever since. 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
