This is why folk get annoyed ……
Check out the pictures on the BBC site under Scotland then Your pictures.
The following is by Ali Parmenter who states (as you will see if you go onto the site) that the motor home was stuck on the Bealach Na Bà. It was towing a small yellow car which had to be unhitched and driven down on its own.
Where do these drivers leave their common sense?

Well the village idiot is driving!
I can only imagine the carnage left in the wake of this drivers holiday. I hope he has used up his entire holiday’s worth of underwear and is only on day 2😂

These motorhome things have become a scourge on our landscape.
Just as these behemoth cruise ships are a scourge on our coastline.

If I remember correctly having gone over this/cross between the khyber pass and the Burma road a few years ago there are signs warning of its suitability for just such vehicles .
It was bad enough in the D3 and SWMBO even now hasn’t fully recovered from the experience of us being forced into a ditch by an idiotic female driver. She was lucky because if she had hit 3 tons of discovery she was going for a 200 foot trip straight down.
What on earth was this idiot thinking of. I know the coastal route is a good bit longer but at least you don’t get to situations like this. What a plonker.Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

It’s sign posted both ends and at other points on the road, but I suppose it doesn’t specifically exclude camper vans towing a small car.

I think the Lochcarron side now has a sign saying unsuitable for motorhomes. The sign is probably plastered with stickers and once again unreadable...D1 300Tdi - gone

Shame they have chopped off some rock and laid tar to make the road a bit wider. That's the corner I could get my Series II LWB round going down but not up.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

It appears that most of these vehicles do not have reverse gear!

So, do you think they don’t read to the end of the notice or do they do the first mile then think “Nah, they’re pulling a fast one, it’s fine, we’ll do the rest” or do they realise they can’t manoeuvre the vehicle sufficiently so have to keep going?
Genuine query: if you go to hire one of these things, do you have to prove you can drive it? Similarly, if this destructive oaf owns this humongous carbuncle, would he have had to show his licence to ensure he was qualified to drive it off the forecourt?

I don't think they care.
I get held up on a regular basis by them pootling along at 35mph on the A82/A83, they pass numerous laybys where they could pool in and let the angry tailback past, do they? Not a chance.
When I pass them late at night parked in the nunerous laybys with the no overnight parking signs displayed, like to give them a toot or 2 to acknowledge their presence.
I'm not a fan, looking forward to crazy season finishing and the kids getting back to school and we can go back to as near normal as possible
