The USA is a bad place to be a copper (perhaps NSFW)

Copper having a friendly chat and a guy opens up with a semi-automatic. Guy ends up very dead.

Bloke kills two coppers and then shouts "I'm done" and gives up when he himself is shot.

Bloke just opens fire when stopped.

What is notable is that many of the gun toting nutters are bad shots. Watch a few of these police dash cam videos and you see that the nutters often blaze away and do nothing but make holes in the scenery. The guy in the second clip obviously had some idea how to aim as he killed two police officers, but the first and last nutters appear to have missed with every shot.

Anyway, the US is a scary place where any discussion can become a fire fight in a split second.

Yeah, that was a bizarre thing to say in a press conference. But that's the USA for you.

The guy emptied the entire clip in to the baddie because he was scared poo-less and running on 100% adrenaline by that point. But hey, why bother about reality?

Not all Left-Pondians agree with the desperate need to carry and own many many guns.

https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/gu...an-rights/

But those that do advocate for unfettered gun ownership aren't really very good at reasoning. Because if they were, they wouldn't need a gun to settle an argument.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The United States was built on a shared set of values and principles, with a focus on protecting and preserving inalienable human rights to life and liberty.

Er, no, it was founded on a shared belief that money should stay in their pockets. And because no one wanted to pay nasty taxes to fund an army, they did the whole "everyone needs a gun to be in the militia" thing. And today, Yanks are still claiming that right as being inalienable even though it is an amendment (and thus amendable) and they are the largest military power in human history to date.

A bit like the conservative right that insists that the US was founded as Christian country, even though it absolutely wasn't.

But hey, that's Yanks for you.

Most cops not much better.
