Just noticed an article in the local paper about a so-called "Eco-Activist group" in Edinburgh deflating 4x4 tyres by placing a "mung bean" in the valve.
Anyone know if it is possible to source locking valve caps for the Disco3? - something similar to locking wheel nuts that require a "key" to undo them?
Just ordered some from Turnerpieces (as per Q8s link). Will report back on quality etc when they arrive.
I don't live near Edinburgh but I think they look 8)Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

I can tell you right now if you get some of these DO NOT TIGHTEN the grub screw. They rust and you cant undo them.
The only way to get them off is to up the thread on the valve.
Other than that they look good. I have had them on for a year.Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it

I've had a set of locking valve caps on my D3 since new (2+ years) and never had a problem with them, they are of a slightly different design though. They have a inner cap and an external cap - to put them on and off the valve you need to tighten a key (small nut with a grub screw on the end) into a small hole in the side that makes both caps turn at the same time. I will try and get a photo of them tomorrow (I got them via ebay).
I had a set like the ones above on my old D2 for 3 years and never had a problem with them.
The reason I have them is that kids round here like taking your dustcaps and sometimes let the tyres down as well 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

A word of warning though, if you car goes into the dealer make sure that you tell them that you have them fitted and where the key is even if you believe that they will not need to remove them.
If your dealer is STRATSTONE remove them and put normal dustcaps on as my Mother took her J**P in to them, told them about them and where the key was, mechanic wanted to check pressures but couldnt remove them so used a spanner or something and destroyed the threads of all 4 TPM valves. I got them to renew all the valves and pay for new locking dustcaps but they said that in future they wouldnt touch the car if it had them fitted as it would void the warranty Needless to say they lost my Mother's custom and she has since seen sense and sold the J**P!1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
