Good job the Cold War has ended...

Radio 4 and the World Service were temporarily off air this morning thanks to an evacuation following a fire alarm activation.

Good job the Cold War has ended or we might be basking in nuclear winter now. The story goes that the ballistic sub on duty listened out for BBC Radio shows to ensure that the UK is still in one piece and hasn't succumbed to a Ruskie nuclear first strike.

I would hope their aim was a bit better than that as the idea is lob them at the other side not our own! Series 1 V8
