Heater no hot air B1B78-84

Hi,

Recently with the weather I have noticed the heater in my discovery 3 not working at all! I have plugged in my scanner and the fault code has flagged up B1B78-84 (System pressure). I've had a look around and most posts with the same code show I need the AC recharged which is likely fas it hasn't been done in a while, however I can't understand why this affects the blower from producing hot air.

Am I going down the right track, if so can somebody explain why or could it be something completley different?

Thanks in advance.

Connor.

Unrelated.

If you get air but it’s cold then probably blocked matrix.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I've had a chance today to flush the system and bleed with new antifreeze, still no hot air though with the same fault codes! Any other ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

Connor

They are very difficult to flush, as the dirt can’t go up hill.

Someone did have success removing the matrix via the drivers footwell and flushing.
You need to check you have the pipes you can disconnect under the dash

Hi Conner - does sound like your heater matrix is fubared (technical term Whistle )

As Pete mentioned it is possible to flush the matrix but not always successful. Time to dismantle the dash and fit a new matrix

This maybe useful - https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/disco-3-tem...85501.html
