With help from many on here I successfully transferred the cool box from my 06 D3 to my 16 D4. It worked fine for a while but developed a 'fluttering' noise when on. I dismantled the mid-console and found it was a manufacturer's paper label near the fan fluttering in the breeze! Huge relief.
I then carefully rebuilt the top of the cubby box and mid-console, testing that everything was working at each stage and no 'fluttering' noises. All went well. Again huge relief!
A couple of days later, just as we left on a week's break (for which the cool box was required) it showed no light on the switch and nothing happened.
I wondered if I might have disconnected it somehow or the fuse had blown. Fuse was fine and when I dismantled the mid-console AGAIN, the connection seemed fine.
I checked that there was power at the end of the supply lead, yes, 12v switched.
But still; no cool box.
Can anybody advise? Is it defunct? Does anybody know anybody with the knowledge and kit to run some diagnostics on it?
I am happy to strip it out AGAIN and send it.
Or do I just replace it with a new one?

If it's got power but not working, it seems replacement would be the easiest option given that SH units are not particularly expensive. 2010MY Disco 4 HSE in Ipanema Sand over Almond.

Have a look for Peltier modules, find the size of yours and change it. It's probably that if fan was working correctly. L633 Defender
