My D3 got sold on quickly when it needed its fourth clutch, six months after the third one. Never got to tow anything with the third one, and very little with the second one. Flywheel etc changed each time and removed components within published spec! Only clue was each failure was shortly after a longish reverse in low range, but my wallet could not investigate further! Im still on the original one, 160k miles now with regular towing. Clearly something is not right if going through them that quickly.....

The "something that is not right" is obviously not the replaceable clutch components and time and money to go further looking for it is not avalable if one want a usable vehicle. Well I purchased my 2007 D3 manual in 2010 it had four clutches in seven years of my ownership 3 of them under warranty due to warped pressure plates I got fed up with it and Goya D4 8 speed haven’t looked back since

Mine was all supplied and fitted by main dealer, and every time they fitted a warped pressure plate , I loved manual vehicles but the 8 speed auto as changed my thinking

My D3 clutch went at 12000 miles, pulled up at traffic lights, took out of gear and no issues. Lights turned green and put it in gear but virtually no drive, lots of revs though.
Changed under warranty by LR , lasted 10 miles before it failed again. Car went to another dealer and had new clutch and flywheel, was then partexed for a D4 auto and not looked back since MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Been getting XY sensor problems occasionally for a few months now.
In the past week I've had to do a recalibration every other day and yesterday the clutch started to slip.
After 222,000 miles I think I've had my moneys worth! 8)
