Rasta radiator protection
I'm installing the Rasta 4x4 underbody protection kit, which is similar to the Matzker kit.
When installing the cast radiator protoection, the included instructions said:
Remove the old plastic radiator shields and bore out the existing holes with a 9.5mm drill. The next step is to press in the threaded inserts. But they just slipped into the holes without resistance! Something must be wrong with with the instructions or the inserts. I guess the inserts are supposed to be a press fit? The picture shows some sort of tool being used?
Does anyone have these bits installed and have a clever and cunning plan to rectify the problem?
Oh yes - the dreaded rivet inserts! Many of the LR OEM accessories use them (i.e. raised intake, read ladder). I have not been successful with them, but there are others here who have the tool required to expand them in the hole you drilled.David

This is one type. There is a cheaper pistol-grip type as well. The threaded insert is supposed to act like a rivet - the tool squeezes it and it expands to fill the hole, but leaves a useable thread through the middle.Disco 5 HSE Lux
