Vibration under load lack of power / throttle response

Hi All
This issue has happened a couple of times now . It seems to start when engine is under load ie accelerating then I get a lot of vibration from something (presumably drivetrain) coupled with loss of power / throttle response. The only way for it to dissipate/ clear is to leave the throttle alone and let everything slow down even out and then normal operation is resumed. Most puzzling. Has anybody else had this or an idea of cause ? There are no codes in when read . TIA

Could be a multitude of things, but I'd stab in the dark that it'll be a worn Torque Converter - assuming you have an auto?

Mine shuddered under load when I bought it. Had the TC changed and gearbox flush etc and (touch wood) it's been fine since. A mid-price job at about £1500 if I recall correctly.

Bristol Transmissions did a fab job, they service Highways Agency vehicles I believe (or at least they did at the time).

Hi thanks for your reply . I do tend to agree it very well could be a worn torque converter however there are no other signs of that ailment to go along with it ie delay when setting off gearbox operation, hesitation etc etc etc . It is always when in a situation where it has been possible to lose traction ie powering uphill whilst cornering and does very much feel like traction control issue but there are never any lights on the dash to go with it ? If it was a torque converter issue surely I would still have throttle response ie be able to rev the engine / revs climbing whilst no extra forward motion?? Really do hope to god it isn’t the torque converter Big Cry Big Cry

Sounds almost identical to a previous D3 of mine when it had a worn TC.. no lights but occasional vibration under load, get it changed sooner rather than later before it does more damage!
I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

This is an option that can get you a few more miles.
Known to work, and I have knowledge and can vouch for it's effectiveness.
