Anyone Interested: Build of large solar battery pack!
So I plan to do some camping/remote work with my wife in our D3.
A large issue is that we need good reliable power for our devices.
There are ready solutions out there for various solar systems etc...
But the cost of them is 4/5x what it would cost me to make - and making something custom is always more fun.
So I have a plan to build a 280Ah / 3.5kWh battery system, into the Disco, that should power us happily for 2-3 days with 0 sun...
If people are interested, I can document the processes, share tools etc, and give some guidance of doing it for yourself.Pre-Production

a few weeks ago, not knowing it was going to be put into service almost immediately as our water inlet pipe to the tank on the hill froze up and I couldn't find my 12V pump.
So, used that, a 100Ah battery and 400W mains pump on the hill to fill the 2500l tank from the burn, once I'd broken through the top layer of ice.
It performed without fault, is small and the fan only runs when needed, which given the temp was about -5C wasn't much!Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

I'm in too
Be interested to see what bits you come up with as I am currently struggling to find a decent 100W folding panel that doesn't come with a ropey charge controller strapped to the back of it05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system

Wow, ok, more interest than I thought.
Ok, Then its time I organised all my notes and start documenting everything
This will not be a "Done in a day" system, as I will have to order lots of parts and some things will take a while to arrive, but I will keep notes on what, why and how.Pre-Production
