GAP IID to code DAB+ module

I've just fitted a DAB+ module to my 2009 LR4, replacing the non-plus original. I think now it needs coding. I don't have a GAP ID tool - and don't feel much like spending £500 on one, just for this task. So, I'm wondering if someone in the Reading area has a professional one and who might accept a bottle of something suitably alcoholic to do the coding for me? 😀🎉🍾🍷🍺

If you can't find someone with a Pro you're welcome to add your VIN to my Non Pro, although it looks like GAP will charge you £80 to do so, might be cheaper to get someone like Arkleys or Rovertune to do it.

Are you sure it needs coding / is codable? the ID frame size could be different, in which case, it'll never work as it won't be 'seen' on the bus. It's not something I've ever looked at or tried so I can't give you any more info.

You can not code DAB units… (with IID) themselves

You can only enable (modify cff) the (right) unit to be visible on the BUS..

Since DAB is allready enabeled in the cff (you said you exchanged a faulty one) i doubt if you can modify more, it is DAB on or DAB off in the cff, nothing more
 Best regards
Harold

Really appreciate the post. If what you're saying is right, does it suggest one of two things:
1. DAB+ isn't a possibility in my early LR4
2. The module I've bought is faulty

Electronics definitely isn't my thing, so I'm finding it tough to get the right info and direction to sort this out!

It’s highly unlikely that your existing equipment will have the firmware to decode dab + signals.

No… your D4 has a specific ECU for the entertainment…. There is certain firmware on that ECU, so it will work together with certain components to do its job….. simply said… that firmware “talks” only to certain firmware on devices on the MOST bus in your car.. if that device is on its “list”

If you plug in a unit with firmware from another car and is not on your infotainment ECU list, it will not be recognised….

You did not mention WHAT DAB+ unit you added.. JLR? Partnumber? From what motor did it came from?
Etc.

Simply “a” DAB+ unit is not sufficient to say anything serious tbh..
 Best regards
