D3 vs D4 Alternator life?

Is it correct to say that the SDV6 D4 alternator lasts longer typically than the TDV6 D3 version?

I think my D4 alternator went at about 85k if I remember correctly

Higher spec models will chew it up faster than lower spec or base. Particularly heated seats, steering, window elements, etc.

More toys = more power consumption = shorter life span. A poor battery will kill it pretty quickly too. Thumbs Up yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
