Back in the 1970s I used to work in an office adjoining the famous Lamb and Flag pub in London’s Covent Garden. The pubs owner/tenant had a beautiful Austin 7 with the number plate RU 18.
On a separate note my own initials are TRA so I was dismayed to see TRA 1 drive by on a Rolls Royce on Westminster Bridge. I knew then I would never own it.

There used to be an old mk2 Astra estate near a garage in Walthamstow where I used to work and the reg was Ollix and they put a GB sticker in front of it. Always tickled me. Also used to see an all black TVR around Edmonton and Ponders End and the plate spelled out Exocet. I’m sure it reappeared on a Lotus Elise.
There is a company around here with vans with DSL on them and I’m sure at least one has DSL on the plate. 👍2006 TdV6 HSE.
I always thought that though R50LES is great for Les, R-SOLES was an alternative interpretation.

I’ve seen “TAWT U” a few times. It makes more sense when you see it in your mirror.
In real life it has the space between the T & U.MY14 TDV6
