Will LR contact me for a car recall or I should call them?
More and more information shows that my 2015 Diesel SDV6 D4 may be included in the crankshaft issue recall case. I have no idea if the LR or its dealer will contact me or I should contact them for the recall if it happens ---- If I should do the first, who I can contact? Any Discovery owner here knows the recall procedures? Very appreciated!
To be clear, there has never been a recall for Disco3/4 crankshafts in the UKI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I didn’t think there was anything preventative that could be done re crank failures, apart from fit a new engine at every other service.

There is no recall for the crank issue LR will deal with it on a case by case basis as it happens . There was no point having a recall as there was no fix for it .
Hopefully for you it wont go in the first instance, after that you will need a full JLR service history then its down to how they feel on the day . They have recently been a bit more forthcoming with goodwill however I cannot overstress how important it is to have a dealer who is helpfull as some are not! It can make several thousand difference in the outcome for you . What ever you do dont start off by threatening legal action as with a vehicle out of manufacturers warranty you rely on goodwill they dont have to do anything and wont.
