Our D3 has a seized engine (rotated bearing shells I believe)
Sadly it had a top end rebuild only 2 years ago when the cam belt tensioner snapped off the oil pump!
162k miles, auto, silver HSE, beige leather interior, in overall good condition, LR floor mats, RLD spare wheel protector, 3 spare wheels, removable roof bars,
Its the best vehicle we’ve ever had, and seems much too nice to just scrap, so I wonder if its of use to the good people on here as I”m told these are appreciating in value.
£1,950 ono?

Is this of use to anyone?
Price is negotiable, just seems a shame to scrap.

Hi,
Its a 270 degree foxwing.
There are triangular brackets that bolt onto the rear of the awning with square-headed bolts that slide into the channels on the awning, these points inwards towards the centre of the vehicle.
Then square headed bolts that slot into the channels on the roof bars pointing upwards securing the horizontal face of the triangular brackets.

Here is why the engine stopped - broken crank if you look closely

Is that likely to require a new short engine then?
I assume a broken crank will have mangled the block.

Difficult to show on a photo, but I could see the end main bearing web was pushed out of shape by so much force between the broken edges of the crank. I used a hydraulic ram to extract the shorter front section, and a piece of the block broke off as it eventually came out. So the original block is scrap.
I bought another D3 non-runner last month, with a snapped belt tensioner. Fortunately, a set of replacement cam followers were enough to get the original engine running sweetly again. That deal included a complete spare engine and gearbox from a fire damaged RRS. So I have a spare engine ready to go, I just hope it is a good one.
It appears that SBZ had a replacement gearbox not long ago, any idea of the mileage when that was changed?Chris
