Phone holder for the D4
So, being the proud owner of a 2010 D4, the non-updatable sat-nav obviously only shows routes not much more modern than what the Romans used.
These days smart phones can fulfil that function very adequately of course. So what's the best way to affix a phone holder onto the dash and where? For my use, it doesn't necessarily need to be able to charge the phone and, if it makes any difference, my phone is an iphone 13.
Thanks in advance.

Plus one for the Brodit. Had one on my D3 for a while now, solid and in a great spot.

I use a RAM X-Grip mount and have it attached to the Windscreen on the right of the instrument cluster, I've also run in a long USB extension so I can charge the phone when using Sat Nav.

I use Mous.... check their website for the mag mounts and charging mag mounts. expensive but excellent.
Also... don't give up on the touch screen route as police get more and more keen to charge anyone touching a mobile device.... on a mount or not they will charge you for touching a mobile.
I use this for apple car play (or android auto if you use a terrible phone)**
**disclaimer...... please excuse this comment it was my deliberate attempt at humour whilst antagonising non apple users and in no way was it a serious comment.**
As per previous posters, +1 for Brodit. Magsafe is great for my iPhone 12 so should be good for your 13 too
PS - I bought a Brodit extension piece to move the phone up for better visibility.Discovery 4 HSE - Aintree Green

i use a Brodit but with a cheap magnetic holder off amazon. Big magnet bit sticks to the brodit and the slim magnet goes inside you phone case.

Don’t touch the screen though!!
Zero tolerance now applies so the phone holder companies may be losing sales as time goes on.
