LEDs Again Again Again... |
|
Some people have bought LEDs for the D3s (don't we all know it!!)
I have been following the various woes and have now decided that I think I will get some, so I looked at the eBay site that Ridgeback got some from. These seem quite good.
I emailed the dealer and asked about a group buy or club discount - here is his reply:-
hi.easiest thing to do is to give your club members my ebay ID and then they can contact me direct.if their order will be just for 1 or 2 sets then i will only be able to give a combined postage discount.anything above 5 sets and i will see what i can do.just tell them to say which club they are from.hope this helps.ray
The eBay number for the LEDs (item has ended but it shows you who the dealer is) eBay Item No. 120248167854 - you can also search for rayandmark.
Anyway - just thought I would post this and if you want LEDs you may save yourself some dosh and the hastle that seems to come from Ultraleds that other users have had.

I've just contacted him for a price for 20 and 40 sets (2 bulbs per set) shipped to one single location.
Will let you know what he says & I may set up an 'interested' signup.
cheers

I thought about doing a group buy, but when you take into account the hastle and postage cost, I thought it would be easier just to get him to sort the discount code and send direct.
But if you want to sort it out - over to you!
I have ordered mine already....although I went for the 36 LED ones from another dealer in the end, working out at £18.38 for 4 bulbs inc p+p (ok, if you get them for a lot less there will be tears and tantrums! )

Not so much hassle as I'd think the D3 Network & north/mids/south meets could cater for most people. Only worht it if there's a reasonable saving though Bodsys Brake Bible

I have just fitted these as supplied by rayandmark, to my motor, & although they have solved the interference problem I was getting from those supplied by Ultraleds, in my opinion, they are not as bright as the original filament bulbs & as such I have reverted to the original filament bulbs. I would be interested to hear from Adiver when he installs the 36 led ones as to how bright they are. never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly

Well I fitted them this evening. They are not as bright as standard filament bulbs, but not far off. They do not cause any interference to the radio reception.
I'll see how I get on with them for a while....not sure if I am pleased or not! I would have preferred them to be at least as bright as standard bulbs - especially when the brake light is on.
I forgot to take a photo for comparison!
