Concerning noise
Hi again all
Just started the car today and there was a loud shuddering rattle coming from the engine for about 10 seconds
Cars driving fine and started like normal again
Just did a code read and nothing come up for engine
Thinking live values for cylinders maybe a good idea to screen shot and get someone’s opinion on the values maybe?

Really weird and I’m scared! Haha

They're all within range - what engine temperature was that read at?
Could be glow plug issue or fuel issue - or something else completely.
Given your description, I'd be checking all the glow plug resistance's first.

Hiya it was 4 degrees and cold
I know the glow plugs are goosed as I’ve been using aux heater to help on cold mornings
So is the rattle nothing to worry about? (Providing I don’t start her cold again)

It's a common issue when using the Webasto as a glow plug alternative.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

As Martin mentioned, it’s typical of a cold start with knackered glow plugs.
The only real solution is to replace the glow plugs

Proceed with caution with changing those glow plugs .... got mine swapped out last year. 3 snapped in the engine heads on removal (Been in for 17years mind!) . Knackered the heads and had to get replacements ... 2 months on a lift
On the upside, with all the gaskets and bits and bobs renewed, the engine is running lovely now A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Broken glow plug removal is perfectly possible without removing the heads…..so long as the specialist extraction kit is available at the time…..I guess your repairer didn’t have the kit…..

Indeed. Used main dealer. That was part of the delay getting that kit over from England. It didn’t work so they tried ‘other methods’ which didn’t work either. Heads damaged during that process so had to replace.
I thought it would be straightforward ….. no I know betterA happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
