Hi Stew,
Did you go ahead and get one of the Joolca Hottap systems?
Any luck with it? Looking to buy the basic kit.

I use one that looks very much like this generic photo:
Not attached to the Disco I must add, but if you're purely interested in how well it works then I can confirm that it's very effective. It uses a couple of D cells that seem to last years to control the gas solenoid and the ignition, and just sips propane. Water pressure is dependent on the source, so if it's a attached to a hose then it's excellent, if a pump from a tank then your pressure may vary. It's also a function of temperature, i.e. the hotter you want it the slower the rate of flow, although you can buy bigger-specced units that can heat more water per unit of time for increased flow, at the expense of more gas burned. Of course if you're hooking it up to a tank on the back of a truck then water flow, gas storage and overall size are going to be the limiting factors so a smaller version would probably be fine.
Overall it's completely comparable to a home power shower, as long as you have the water pressure available.D3 2005 HSE
