FISH & CHIPS
our local has increased its prices twice in a fortnight and local telly has highlighted the issues facing the sector...BBC report MOST of our cod comes from putin land....surprise to me ,,,thought it was iceland (the country)...our purchase of large cod and chips was 9.70 now 10.50..more expected...cheaper to buy large and cut in half...adequate for us...

We are £8.50 for fish and chips and yes it’s gone up a couple of quid. Like you one divides between two quite adequately tbh. Only a matter of time before the potion size reduces. There’s no cheap eating out options anymore.

You only have to look at what’s happening around the world just now and realise we are entering a stage where food and fuel poverty will be common and I’m not talking about under developed countries it’s coming to our doorstep soon.Already I’m hearing of fuel being siphoned from vehicles up here not trucks but cars! Prices will continue to rise. Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Up here it’s £7.90. For that you get two pieces of haddock so enough for SWMBO and me.Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

Hey Galwaygreen
NZ$5.00 scoop chips
NZ$5.80 piece of fish (Gurnard)
That's at the best F&C shop in NEW PLYMOUTH (not Old Plymouth where you are)
1NZ$ =£0.52
Pop in if you are ever passing by (on the other side of the world).

My question is, why is fish and chips more expensive when you are right next to the sea. It’s always cheaper at home ( Brum) than at the seaside, are more often than not tastes better.
Is this just more rip off pricing
