Bonnet open sensor

Hi Guys

Screen inside vehicle says that the bonnet is open, when is is not, so decoded to check catch's and sensor.

My question is should there be 2 sensors, ie one either side or just a single sensor on the drivers side.
Mine only has one sensor, but on the passenger side it appears to have a two core cable taped back to the loam, so thought I'd check before taking it apart further

Just one sensor/switch on drivers side is correct.

Short it out across the plug terminals with a paperclip to test. If the warning lamp goes off then the switch is at fault. Thumbs Up

there are that many of these "repaired" with a paperclip I'm surprised there isn't a JLR part code for them. Laughing

Thanks Guys

Issue sorted.

Switch was not operating due to years of grease and crud, cleaned catches and switch and everything operational
