Retrofit a touch screen on HSE?

Hi, I am new to the forum. I have a 2008 TDV6 HSE without the satnav/touchscreen. I just have a cubby in that position. Can retrofit a touch-screen in this position? Do any of the D3/D4 screens work? Di I have to change the loom or is it just plug and play?

I assume that you have the HK fibre optic system, if so you may be able to retofit the screen or a D4 screen which i see here has been done.
You can also get an android screen to fit in that space that would be better than the factory satnav and will give you access to bluetooth streaming and android apps for gps maping etc.

I don't think I have the Harmon Kardon system in mine but how do I check what I do have? Would the fitting of the D3/D4 nav unit just work or would it require additional GPS antenna etc that I don't think I have?

It wont be plug n play and the system is outdated, unusual that your HSE didn't come with the screen.

I had assumed the LR original equipment would be the easiest path but now I'm not sure. What are my options? Cheap Android Auto unit or 7" tablet?

I've done a VIN Decoder search and it looks like I have the in dash 6x CD change with the MOST bus. This is the VIN reference -'CD Player - Integrated MOST 6 CD' - does this mean I can extend the MOST bus and install the D4 factory satnav in the top cubby?

Yes you could fit a denso unit.

Best thing to do is have a look if there is a connector behind it with wires and grey plug.

If yes go for D3 unit (and map dvd drive under seat)
If no wiring, D4 denso unit would make more sense (need D3 bracket)

What are you hoping this thing will display ?
Do you have a gap iid ?
