Having 'watched' the warranties debate with interest and just had to negotiate with the selling dealer a £500 repair for worn ball joints etc, I am now seriously considering an extended warranty. The dealer warranty (post ball joints) is now with AutoProtect; it's not a company I am familiar with and I haven't managed to find any info on this forum, I believe it can only be accessed via a trade account which may be why it's not having much exposure via users.
Has anyone else got AutoProtect, have you had to claim and was it an OK process ??
All thoughts gratefully received

I am having a great deal of trouble with them at the moment, as they insist to say that an EGR valve is not a valve in the engine, therefore it is not covered.
Also, on previous service they have told my workshop they were sending their own part (instead of letting them buy a new one). My shop said the part was very likely second hand.
