Flappy upshift not working
Just got a 2012 Disco4 HSE
It's a late 2011 with the ZF 8 speed box and paddles. But I'm finding the flappy paddles are not working as expected. The downshift seems to always work but the upshift is inconsistent, often not working at all. Is this a known problem? any solutions?
Thanks

bad connection???
try to remove the flap (torx screw) and, carefully, check the small connector behind the flap, otherwise the lost connection is inside the steering wheel ........ (need to remove the airbag)
Or bad flap switch also behind the flap.....

I had a similar problem. It was a fault with the wiring loom that connects to the flappy paddles. D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

That's encouraging DudleyDisco, don't use the paddles much but would be good to have them working

My fault was even stranger! The up-shift worked during the day, but not at night. There was a short in the loom which meant that as soon as I turned the sidelights on, the paddle didn't work!?!D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Hi there DudleyDisco,
I know this was a while ago but i have exactly the same issue. As soon as I put the lights on the upshift doesn’t work, down shift not an issue.
Was it much of a job changing out the loom, off the shelf item?
