headlight adjustment for EU |
|
Is there a relatively simple way to adjust the headlights in the D4 from UK to Europe use - I know they can be done by removing half the front of the car, but is there either a mod that can be done once to help this, or something that can be done with gaffer tape, a coat hanger, a magnet and a child's small hands - or similar?

Which type of lights and what year D4.
I'm fairly sure the lever on the back of the lights only applied to Xenons fitted to D3, not D4. If its Halogens on your D4 then its the sticky patch on the front of the glass, If its the later MY16 D4 with xenons then you dont do anything at all
Hopefully somebody will be along shortly to confirm (or deny)

On my D3, there was a lever that changes the lights so you can drive on the right. You do need to take the headlamp out, but that is really easy to do. I assume D4 will be the same up to MY13. On my MY16 Landmark, you change the lights over on the instrument panel.
Hope this helps Discovery SDV6 Landmark

I'll stand to be corrected on this, but the MY16 the light pattern is of a design that needs no adjustment for driving on the right, the adjustment on the instrument panel is for HBA.
Taken from Topix.
HEADLIGHTS - DRIVING ABROAD
The headlamps have a beam pattern that eliminates the need to mechanically adjust the lamps or add any external stick-on decals.
To configure the Auto high beam system for the side of the road on which you are driving, proceed as follows:
Using the menu control on the steering wheel, select Vehicle Set-Up via the Message centre.
Select Auto High Beam setting.
Select Drive on Left or Drive on Right, for the side of the road that you are driving.

Sorry to open this post up again but literally having the same problem. Thinking of taking the kids to France and came across the headlight issue. I’ve seen on here that I can go into the vehicle set up and change the side of road I would be driving on and my owners handbook says the same. However, when I go into the vehicle set up section there is no setting for auto high beam. Can someone please help or tell me why this would be the case. I have a disco 4 2016 Landmark.

Hi all, similar question to the last poster. I have a late MY2016 ‘Graphite’ model. I don’t think it has high beam assist but I do believe it has xenons. Am I to believe there’s no requirement to physically adjust the lamps or place a eurolite sticker on the lens?
Am I just ‘good to go’ on the continent?
Thanks

Short answer is "yes".
Your headlights have a "flat" beam pattern that doesn't have the raised bit to the left so don't need it blocking off for driving over there. .
