Glen Coe
Been in Glen Coe for a couple of days. Got the Oz tent out of storage to use. It’s still got Sahara sand in it Here with my daughter for some walking and chilling. We did the Aoanach Eagach ridge yesterday and she did great. Had my rope and gear just in case but it wasn’t needed though I thought I was going to have to rope up to get someone across but some gentle talking and guidance got them there. Pictures don’t do it justice. There are some videos on you tube of folk with drones that show the exposure on some parts. I have to say that when I last did it nearly 30 years ago I’m sure it was shorter and less scary Must be old age creeping in

Looks great! I'm off to Yorkshire this time next month, plan to be skipping up some of the hills I used to walk with my parents with our 'new' rehome dog... think they'll have got a bit steeper over the years...
I thought you'd have got the sand hoovered out by now - or at least have left it in Noel's car....

Maybe I should have had a paint brush to get the sand away like Noel “ great piece of kit “

Back on subject, what sort of distance were you doing per day (i know the gradient makes a difference)? No.2 Son and I were up in Kielder between lockdowns and were worn out doing ~15km a day with dogs, some gradients but the ground could be heavy going.

The route we took was about 14km with a fair bit of ascent descent in between. The highest point was 967m. My knees took a pounding I was glad to have my walking poles.Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Just a daysack? I was carrying about 18kg at the start (Dogs were carrying their own food!) I think I'd need poles if I was doing Glen Coe, it looks hard going, even though Kielder could suck the energy out of you, the going was generally kind on yer feet and knees!

Full rucksack. Had a 40mtr rope and a half rack of climbing gear as well as all the normal stuff so not light.
Derek I would have loved to be carried down in comfort.Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Been climbing a bit here in Montreal. They have a honking great hill in the middle and some idiot, ie me, decided it would be a good idea to go up it for the view. Great view but next time might take the bus!

Oh, and our hotel room is on the 26th floor, thankfully the lifts work.
