Just for fun....
With the Defender going in a couple of months and being replaced by an F-Type Jag' then my old Mercedes E320 cab' is surplus to requirements so may well be going. I may yet keep the Merc' as she is such a good car and I took a while finding her, and the Jag' is only temporary in grand scheme of things, I may just have the one and go back to a Defender.
In the meantime the laptop has been set for searches on Autotrader and eBay for a replacement 3rd car for the car port  I'm planning a budget of £10k'ish but could be £5k or £15k.
But what to have? I've gone down path of something 'useful' to replace the usefulness of the Defender so a Toyota Landcruiser springs to mind (really regret selling the one my lad and I bought a few years ago off here....  ). An MPV for use as a 'van' also crossed my mind and a Mercedes Vito has found its way onto 'saved' list.
Modern 'useful' includes any German estate car from about 2010-2014, Nice Audi RS anyone 
At other end a small city car always comes to mind and a Peugeot 107, or more likely a later 108 now, always a cheap and cheerful safe bet to have available. Cheap as chips to run and useful spare wheels when needed, I've had four 107's in the past. A Smart 4-2 also being looked at, SWMBO quite fancies one of them (I've had four of those too in the past) and come in auto which suits her better. These could be had at the bottom end of budget easily or late model, top spec at £10k'ish.
Warm hatches seem to be coming up a lot, RS or Gordini Twingo's look fun but a bit ropey/old for most now, Lupo GTI or modern Up GTi could be the one? £10k would get you the best-of-the-best Twingo or Lupo or the later Up!
And then thinking of modern classics a straight swap into a Merc' W124 estate or a Beemer e39 gets me thinking too. Again £10k is minter territory really.
Quite an eclectic line up there - what would you go for

My cash investments have 'lost' about £12k/5% since the Ukraine war kicked off, I dare not check my pension statements, just hope enough time to recover before I start taking them.......
One silver lining is wars create wealth in different markets so I'm sure some investors are doing alright

I'm collecting the "fun" car tomorrow.
2019 Suzuki Swift Sport, 11k miles, 1 yr Suzuki warranty as it's from a main dealer. It's replaced the Cooper S, a better car in many ways but we wanted a change and the SSS is so much fun to drive. Probably the nearest you'll get to the old 205 GTi
It was in close competition with the UP GTi. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE

Yep, I've looked at them too as get good reviews and I imagine a bit left-of-field, but at £10k I'd be in the older 1.6 normally aspirated rather than the later 1.4 turbo model you have and I've read its worth the upgrade due to the torque increase.
TBH I wouldn't stretch the budget for "just a Suzuki", I know I'd look at it like that most likely at some point, however good the car. However, I have a Suzuki dealer round the corner so I would go try one out maybe

I ended up paying £14,175, but that was with the main dealer fitting 4X new tyres (the correct o/e Conti's) and a full tank of petrol. With the comprehensive warranty, I was happy with that price.
I totally agree about the 1.4 turbo, which is why I'm getting one, but the older 1.6 is still a great laugh. Arguably more so, but it needs to be worked a lot harder, decent examples can be found for not a lot though.
I do really like the UP GTi, it only lost out due to it's size. As we have and are keeping the iQ, so my wife liked the fact that the SSS had a bit more room for passengers and luggage than the UP.
I really enjoy wringing out a low powered (by todays standards, it still has 138bhp) great handling little car. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
