Bluetooth Q...

When I hold the 'green' phone button tp activate the bluetooth and make a call, the radio comes on. Is this supposed to happen? I would rather make the call in peace without having to fiddle with the volume control......

Anyone know what I am doing wrong???

Gazzer, mine does this. I find it an easy way to turn on the radio via the steering wheel.

If the radio is off, it will be turned on by the green phone button / tab.

Okey doeky, it seems to be how it is............

A hame LR hasn't adopted for the 2008.5MY, the touchscreen bluetooth system as on my XKR.

Maybe for the face lift in 2010.

....Also I have the names listed in my 'phonebook' with 2 or 3 numbers i.e home/mobile/work, but the bluetooth on the car lists the names but doesn't give me the choice of which number I want to dial. Kinda lucky dip. Is this the system or just my phone???

Thanks.

Nope, mine only offers one number if there are multiples stored against a name. For example, for most of my staff I have their home number and their mobile. The car invariably picks the wrong one and consequently I usually 'dial-out' from the handset or manually type the number from the dash.

Oh, and if the stereo is off it will switch on if you press the phone button.

Name recognition for incoming calls is a bit hit and miss too. My wife called me this morning, her number is stored as a single entry on the phone yet just the number came up in the display when the phone rang. Luckily I recognised the number (but that's another story)

Also I get my contacts sorted by surname in the D3 yet they are sorted by first name in my phone... a pain as I can never remember people beyond their first name Wink

I believe what you need to do here is to identitfy which number is to be the default number for that contact. You need to do this in the phone. Most phones offer this feature I believe (My Nokia E51 does and my old k750 did). Open up the contact in the phone and look at the options, there will be something like "default number". If you set this to your preferred number then this will be one represented in the phonebook.

Its a pain since you then only have one number per contact. But i get around this by creating multiple contacts for my most dialled numbers.

Anothe top tip is to create "Speed dials" by creating contacts called something like "1 Home", "2 Office", "3 Voice Mail", The numbering system frces them to appear at the top of you phonebook list in the car which makes them really easy to find.
