Took the disco to my mate’s garage yesterday and we got it up on the lift to check the air hiss. It was what i feared as the noise goes when the second turbo kicks in - the crossover pipe has a small leak.
Any recommendations of somewhere to get this done at a fair price? I’m in Kent but willing to travel to get it done at the right price by someone who knows what they’re doing. Although Disco Mikey is sadly a bit too far away! D4 GS 12MY

With the car on a lift I had a mate with a length of tube to his ear check around the crossover pipe from above and below while i gently blipped the throttle to create the hiss. Seemed to be coming more from the RH (drivers) side of the pipe. D4 GS 12MY

Replaced a few of them, but never a crossover pipe...
Ah, as I wasn’t the one identifying the leak you’ve planted a seed of doubt! Symptoms though are a hissing ( air leak) noise that disappears when the second turbo kicks in, and a smell of exhaust gases. I assume the egr pipe would make the same noise irrespective of what the turbos were doing? D4 GS 12MY

Hi I know this is an old post but I have now developed a hissing that also disappears as the 2nd turbo kicks in and was wondering what the problem was with yours? Sadly I was suspecting the crossover pipe but would be delighted if it was not😊
