FBH burning???

Hi All,

Plugged my FBH back in last month and after a week i disconnected it again.

This is because I noticed it smelled like burning (not the correct smell) there was no exhaust and it sounded really weird I don't know where to start with diagnosing it.

How can I check for and potentially fix;

-Intake of coolant to the fuel burning heater - to make sure its actually flooding up.?
-An intake of fuel to the FBH.

Also, Does it require oil?

And, Is there any point in servicing it?

Answers would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Sol

if your coolant level is ok, no need for check.. otherwise...

since the waterpump from the engine, will vent the system

so: diagnose it electronically, with GAB idd, Altox or the webasto diagnose kit...

things like fuel lines checking, purging etc. etc. are NOT things to check in this stage when hearing strange noises and weird smells...

diagnose equipment, will make it possible to let it make a test run (cold engine and not shorter than 10 mins!!) and see what happens...

without this and putting on a screwdriver directly without diagnosing, will make things soon more worse than it is now... seen hunderds of Censored up FBH when still servicing them proffesionally years ago..
 Best regards
Harold
