What is the quantity of coolant in the system to calculate the amount of antifreeze needed when replacing the coolant? It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Premix it, then no issues, capacities always seem to be quoted for dry fills, so are a guess at best.

Yes, mix it 50/50 antifreeze/water in a can (assuming this is the ratio used previously) Can’t speak for the diesel but it’s very difficult to get all coolant out from the V8, believe me I really have tried.

I always use premix as it will last longer due to it using distilled water in the make up , Luckily we always have CAT premixed about .

Premix is 50 percent water, that I am sure you know, but I am not paying for water.
I have heard the legends about distilled water v tap water, and can say I have worked on hundreds of vehicles over the years, and all they get is coolant/tap water 50/50.

I'd suggest use of tap water should be determined by where you live. .

I'd suggest that in a commercial environment choice of pre-mixed, distilled water or tap water will be governed by what's cheapest not by local water hardness.

Thanks for the info guys, next dilemma, I have just fitted a none genuine replacement coolant bottle and although in the past I’ve given information on how to bleed the cooling system, following the same instructions can I heck as like get the heater to blow hot, is it possible for the replacement bottle to cause this? It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I understand your sentence as “there isn’t any heat coming after I replaced the coolant”. Is this correct?
If so, you have an airlock.
Doubt the bottle is at fault but of course it is POSSIBLE… the V8 is close to impossible to bleed properly unless you engage in pagan rites, blood sacrifice, align the vehicle so the front is higher than the rear, spend a lot of time, etc. etc. I thought the diesel was easier
